Neo Noh Future + THANKS to Mookie!!

In response to Forum Questions about Neo Noh Future:

"Official word is that we're all in suspense too. I myself have graduated, so I'm no longer the Pres. of the DCAC. x);;

Basically we lost a LOT of money on Neo Noh. And although the school (Daemen) initially promised us we could reschedule it... it's all about getting that funding, and reserving the space in the school. It is possible that the club in the meanwhile will host several mini events, rather than a full blown con in hopes of fund-raising-- but that is up to the new generation taking over. they have been meeting this summer to figure things out. As a lot of you know, Daemen is building a new multi million dolar library, and it would seem an anime convention is lower on the priority list at the moment.

What will it take to get a con up and running? A lot of things-- a new group of students willing/able to have the time and effort to run a convention, school funding $6,000+, and space to have the convention. Do we have those things? yes and no. Yes we have willing people and can get space, but a bunch of students who are seniors really aren't able to run a convention--- they have too much work to do. Also no because of the funding issue. Honestly, for now it's going to be mini events until such a time comes when the club again has funds and new members who want to revive the convention idea-- and perhaps they will even rename it.

I'll just say though, that as upset/sad/disappointed as we were and as frustrated as we still are, it's better that the con was canceled and save a life from a car accident and such than have it go on with a lot of people risking their lives in a blizzard.

The biggest tragedy was that we were unable to give money to Matthew Foster Foundation. That was our real goal. Michael Terracciano (Mookie) just donated the earnings from his Dominic Deegan charity t-shirt to the Matthew Foster Foundation....so that makes a huge difference and is a very awesome positive note and a hopeful one at that!!!! MAJOR MAJOR Thanks & kudos and such go out to him for being super generous and helpful to the Foundation!! On behalf of neonoh we want to express our deep gratitude~~!!"

REFUNDS ON THE WAY

Hiya~

Refunds are going out-- if you didn't get yours yet, please wait another few days... we had to wait for our school to get us the money and obviously schools take a bit of time to process money things--and then there was spring break, so Daemen was closed.

About the the reschedule- looks like it will be in the Fall. (Early September?) We're hoping to lock down the exact date in the next few weeks.

Thanks for your patience and understanding!!
